R256 is a Simplex R series single-acting general purpose hydraulic cylinder. It offers 25 ton (222.4 kN) capacity and a 157.2 mm (6.19 in) stroke, with a maximum operating pressure of 700 bar (10,000 psi). Retraction is provided by an internal spring. Collapsed height is 273.1 mm, extended height is 430.3 mm, ram bore is 65 mm, effective area is 33.3 cm², required oil volume is 528.2 cm³, body outside diameter is 91.9 mm and weight is about 10 kg (22 lb). The body is steel and the plunger is solid. It is designed for general purpose industrial applications. The threaded collar gives flexibility when fixturing the cylinder.
