MODEM BLOCK - Module for use with Model HUB-4 port. The HUB-4 Communication Card provides up to 4 independent fully supervised data channels. It allows the NCCXPWAN to communicate to an XL3 Control Panel, using an MMX Modem or to a MXL Control Panel using a CMI-300 Modem. The HUB-4 provides up to 4 Style,4 or Style 7 circuits. Each circuit provides an FSK data comm channel. Each of 4 data channels is controlled by a separate micro-computer which provides background supervision of the data lines to the panels as well as sending and receiving Fire Panel infor. The info from these 4 channels is concentrated into one data stream and sent to the NCCXPWAN via the NIC-C Card. The HUB-4 plugs into one slot in the CC-5/2 Card Cage and has on-board LEDs for system status & troubleshooting. Power, communication, internal operation and ground fault condition indications are provided as well as circuit trouble conditions. All system status conditions are also reported to the NCCXPWAN. The HUB-4 consists of a single Main-2 Board on which up to two COM-2 Boards can be installed. Up to 2 Modem Blocks can be installed on a single COM-2 Board for a total of 4 Modem Blocks for a fully loadedHUB-4 Comm Card. The HUB-4 provides modem communications between the NCCXP WAN Command Center and either an XL-3 Fire Panel or an MXL Fire Panel. The NCCXPWAN transmits to and from the panels up to 8 miles using 18 AWG twisted pair lines or over extended distances using conditioned data grade leased lines from the telco company. NCCXPWAN can communicate with up to 256 panels. The HUB-4 can also interface to the Wide Area Input/Output (WAIO) module. The WAIO provides 4supervised dry contact inputs and 4 open collector outputs. The supervised dry contact inputs can be used to monitor non-Siemens systems. The open collector outputs can be used to drive relays that interface w/ non-Siemens systems. The open collector outputs can also be used to drive an LED annunciator. At the NCC-WAN, each input can be configured as Alarm, Supervisory, Trouble or Status causing. In addition, each output can be configured as General Usage, Silence, Reset or Acknowledge. The WAIO installs in a standard 4-11/16-inch X 2-1/8-inch electrical box & can be powered by any power limited 12-30 VDC power supply listed for fire protective signaling. This allows the WAIO to be powered from the fire alarm panel that it is monitoring.
