ZAC-40 - Zone Amplifier Card-40 Watt. Designed for use in a Siemens Modular (or FireFinder) system, Model ZAC-40 is a combination 40 Watt amplifier / speaker zone with Style Y, Z or A/B speaker-zone wiring configurations are supported. Model ZAC-40 is power-limited and can be configured to provide 40 Watts of audio at 25VRMS, 70VRMS or 100 VRMS. It is a plug-in card which mounts in a Model CC-5 or Model CC-2 card cage. Model ZAC-40 is capable of amplifying any one (1) of the eight (8) digital audio channels that are transmitted from the Model DAC-NET (Digital Audio Card) via the digital audio bus ASI (Audio Serial Interface). The Model ZAC-40 amplifier is supervised for functionality, and can be used as a single 40Watt speaker zone for one (1) to eight (8) channel applications or as a bulk amplifier for one (1) or two (2) channel applications feeding high-level audio to the Model ZIC-4A, Model ZIC-8B or for single channel applications feeding high-level audio to Model HCP. The speaker lines are supervised for open, short circuit and ground-fault. They are supervised in both the active and inactive states. To provide amplifier backup, additional Model ZAC-40s can be used to achieve the desired amplifier backup ratio of 1 to 1 or 1 to many. Model ZAC-40 takes one (1) sub-address of the Model DAC-NET and receives its control and communication data from a Model DAC-NET via the CAN bus. Model ZAC-40 contains an inherent degrade mode backup tone (Slow Whoop) which serves as a secondary backup to the primary backup tone, or to the digital message provided by a Model DAC-NET. A local audio input is provided to connect an external audio source. The local audio input is activated via an external contact. It has the lowest priority of all signals.
