TZC-8B - Telephone Zone Card. Designed for use with a Siemens Modular (or a FireFinder XLS) fire-alarm control panel, the Firefighter’s Telephone Zone Card (Model TZC-8B) provides a way for emergency response personnel located throughout a building to speak to one another during emergency situations. The card is a voice-system option module that plugs into a Model CC-series (2 or 5-slot) card cage, providing up to eight (8) firefighters telephone zones. The zones have an off-hook acknowledge tone, as well as a Command Console busy tone. Each zone is activated when a firefighters telephone station (FTS series) connected to that zone is taken off-hook or a portable handset (PFT series) is plugged into a phone jack (FJ series). When the zone becomes active, the remote telephone station will receive an off-hook acknowledge tone and the programmed zone light will begin flashing at the Command Console. Once selected by the operator, the zone will be connected to the telephone riser in a multi-line mode and the programmed zone light will light steady. The active remote telephone station(s) will receive a busy tone when the Command Console is presently connected to another telephone zone. Each telephone zone uses a single pair of wires and is individually supervised in a Class B type mode. Zones are also individually power limited per NEC 760. Each zone also contains transient protection. Up to 5 telephone stations may be off-hook simultaneously in a party line mode with no loss of audio quality. The Telephone Zone Card (TZC-8B) is supervised by the Model DAC-NET Card, and is assigned to one (1) of 99 DAC-NET sub addresses (CAN addresses).
